Oh I didn't know that. Just saying that's how it came off to me on first watch.

As much as Martin Scorsese may have skewered gangster history by telling Frank Sheeran’s version of things in The Irishman, he got it exactly right when he did it on his own with Casino. This 1995 gangster classic is based on the nonfiction book Casino: Love and Honor in Las Vegas, by Nicholas Pileggi, the author of Wise Guys and Goodfellas’ source material. All Scorsese had to do to stay true to the real-life story was change the names.

yeah no worries it’s supposed to be his most accurate depiction of all of his work .

Any list that doesn’t have casino in their top 5 auto discredits their list. Arguably the GOAT Scorsese movie. It’s either that or Goodfellas.
Casino is nothing but a diet Goodfellas :unimpressed:

How? when their both based of true stories and casino being a more accurate Depiction ? I prefer goodfellas to btw
Same major characters, same narration style of story telling, same "based on a true story," etc

Keeping it a buck, the same could be said about The Irishman but I found it better than Casino :manny:

On the lowest of keys, Marty made the same movie like 3-4 times but none of them are bad so he can warm over the same soup with little blowback :hubie:

Casino
GoodFellas
Taxi Driver
The Wolf Of Wall Street
The Departed

Probably this exactly for me.

I really like The Irishman too as honorable mention. At times I like it more than departed

Goodfellas is my #1 all time favorite

I've been wanting to see silence and the last temptation of Christ. Are they streaming anywhere?
