I'm talking from 81-91 who are your favorite old heads?

1) Rakim - The God MC spit too much knowledge and never smiled
2) BDK - The Blueprint for Brooklyn, too smooth for words
3) G-Rap - Lyrical Assassin, King Multi himself
4) Ricky D The Ruler - Epitome of swag and story telling
5) KRS - :krs: enuff said

no one can fukk with this list... unless we count dudes like Cube and Face but I like them in the 90's 2 be honest

how's the weather in New York :jawalrus:

Ice Cube should be on there instead of Slick Rick

You sound like a pretentious fagget

you sound like the worthless piece of shyt that went down the commode.

you know nuffin about, nor lived the eras the criteria this thread asks for.

if you knew and were a part of hiphop.
in that certain time frame.

you would know why making a list of that respective decade is a slight culturally.
plus why it really could not be done.
for that particular decade because of the segueway from ol school way of thought to new school way of thought.

they are two distinct methodologies culturally.

where as artistically and culturally they were highly reflective in the music.

Maybe nobody has more respect for Ice Cube than me (see my screenname), but I don't consider him "old school" per se. Especially if we talmbat ending at '91, that was when he just started to warm up...

I have no problem with putting Cube on this list. He was omitted from mine since he wasn't being considered in the first post... but :pacspit: at leaving Slick Rick out.

i really can not honor the content of this thread.

as it has no bearing on the segueway from the oldschool to the new school way of thought.

you really can not judge ol school to new school emcees.
as the old school suffered from monopolisitc/capitalistic/materialism based on sort of culturally rudimentary pagan ideals in a hiphop context.

when it came to picking its largest drawing and skilled artist.

whereas the newschool way of thought.

dealt with more pillar skilled content based and minded ideals at its core.

so trying to pick and mix ol school way of thought emcees, in that window of time.

over new school way of though emcees from 81-91,..is a tough task.
you would be better off just asking for a goat list.

or a best ol school top five list, from 74-85 aNd a separate new school top five list from 85-91.

as you really can not kinda judge ol school and new school in that window.

as the content upon which theories of thought they are based.
are firmly and vastly differing from one another in that time period.
while also completely and drastically in stark contrast are juxtaposed from one another.

couldn't agree more.

sure I can pose the same question in any subgenre of the culture.

who's the best bboy from 81-91? who's the best graf artist? and so on.

if your word is bond and your work is your craft then it stands the test of time

those MCs are in my top 10 NOW.

that's because he isn't.

old skool ended in 1988 with the golden era.

you can't take it to union square in the new world order.

like KRS said, its not new skool OR old skool. its All School.
