Who are your top 5 most overrated college QBs of your lifetime?
In my lifetime, here's my list
Trevor Lawrence
Tim Tebow
Joe Burrow
Andrew Luck
Danny Wuerffel
Good college-level FL QBs (Tebow and Wuerffel) always get overhyped, just like Trask this season. They both had an embarrassment of riches, talent-wise, on their teams. Tebow had the Virgin angle, Christian angle, humanitarian angle. Hated that cac. Wuerffel was supposed to be the next app time great nfl QB his Heisman yr. we see how that turned out.
Burrow played with 2 (Chase & Jefferson), potentially 3 (Marshall) first round wideouts, a first round RB, and an OL where most will make it to the league. Had a great sr year, but was a 5th yr sr, already 23, played with a surplus of talent.
Luck was anointed the next Peyton Manning. He had the look of a can't miss prospect but he never was truly elite in the league, very good player tho. College sports media hyped him up sumthin crazy tho.
Trevor Lawrence had a fine career, but outside of the nat'l chip his Fresh yr, I saw him struggle as a passer against good defenses with nfl talent. I never thought he was better than Fields, even after the OSU-Clemson game last season. Another cac QB that played with an abundance of riches at the skill positions.
