Lowry is done. It was becoming more and more evident toward the end of last season. Can’t get to the rim anymore and can’t defend his position. His offence is entirely reliant on his jumper now. He still will make effort plays and can help a team win but letting him go is addition by subtraction. A sign and trade is ideal but I’m cool either way.

I don’t know that Lowry is done but he’s surely declining. His performance against the lakers at the end of last season tells me he knew it’s not worth burning yourself out on a team going nowhere. He was letting em know hey I can still play when I want to.

Anyone have any second round prospects they like?

I feel like they should just take a buckshot approach and draft 2 centers there

Probably like Bassey the most but I doubt he lasts that long in the draft

I like Bassey too, but he's got a lot of upside and I doubt he'll last there. A rim running big who's also a stretch big, and one of the best shot blockers in college? He won't be there by 46/47

Another big I like is Jericho Sims. Intimidating defender, really athletic. Zero offense and has no feel for offense though. He's a more athletic Freddie Gillespie and worth a swing at 47.

If Isaiah Todd is there, I'd take him. I like his game a lot. He's pretty skilled on the offensive end, but way too thin and weak to do anything on defense. I think he'll have a long career as a stretch big.

Another guys I like in the 2nd are AJ Lawson, Isaiah Livers and Greg Brown. AJ Lawson was a projected 1st at one point and looked like one of the best players at the combine. Livers is a shooter/athletic tweener. Greg Brown was projected to go in the lottery earlier this year, but he's worth a swing at 46/47 as a 905 project.

Maybe “done” was the wrong word. He still can contribute like I said but he cannot be relied upon as a top option like that anymore. If his jumper is off he’s not going to have a good game on offence and since his defence is declining, it will make it impact his value. There flashes of Father Time rearing it’s ugly head with him last year and I expect teams to attack him on D a lot more this year once his inability to get through screens or guard quick guards on the perimeter gets exposed. His closeouts have declined as well.

I think his effort, intelligence and jump shot will make it possible for him to still be impactful and have great games here and there but I think being an all star who can produce very game is a thing of the past.

When you’re around this age you can literally go from like 17 and 8 to avg 8 points and 4 assists

just because Chris Paul and John Stockton did it doesn’t mean it’s common

Lowry also plays a rough game taking charges throwing his body etc

I want no parts of it

getting the fourth pick was manna from heaven

Did Chris Paul do it though? He was a complete defensive liability in the finals and it took Monty Williams until the end of game 5 to notice it and start hiding him. We also saw Chris Paul basically being unable to play full out for four quarters in the final two rounds of the playoffs. His age clearly caught up to him as the playoffs went along to the extent that he couldn’t be what his team needed to be in the finals. He had nothing left in the gas tank at the end of those games.

Stockton played forever but his defence and scoring fell off for two to three years before he called it quits. He was getting by on legacy at that point but he wasn’t really that nice with it at the end.

Whatever team that pays Lowry 3/$30 mil is gonna regret that in the final two years of that deal. The only teams I think Lowry really makes sense for is the Lakers or Philly cuz they could win rings with him. The Heat, Pels and Mavs aren’t going to be elevated to the finals with his addition.

Lakers were stupid to not trade for him. You need a guy like that for a big playoff push. That was the perfect time to acquire him, then offer a "take it or leave it contract".

Wish him the best, but I'm glad Flynn had a good season. Our pg spot can no longer be held hostage.
