if they wear a shoe it is because they have a shoe contract not an endorsement and said player is outfitted with said shoe.

similar to why wade left Jordan brand because he could not stomach rocking the fly wade II in his last contract year. Of which Jordan brand had to do see if wade actually amplified any shoe sales on his own regardless of cosmetics.
with nike the hyper dunk slash flywire series has basically been nike's idea of direction for its basketball outside of the force series. So in that Kobe has the shoe in the line looked at as the standard premium nike basketball shoe. So of course more NBA players without endorsements rock the Kobe.
