Not better than Duncan or Kobe. Two titles (his '67 chip was very impressive). His stats very impressive but you got to take into account how insane the pace was and how it inflated his stats, he's still a freak of nature as an athlete.

No..Shaq being the 3x NBA FINALS MVP when Kobe was on his team puts him ahead of Kobe prime for prime for me. Easily and without second thought.

Yeah but Kobe was the GOAT second option during that run so it wasn't like he was lagging far behind.

Then you consider the other two he won as the main man and he gets the edge for me personally. I have no gripes with your opinion though. I also think Kobe fell off better than Shaq did out of their primes. Kobe renovated his game to sustain himself longer. Shaq just fell off bad...

Isn't it strange how the guy that won 11 championships is one of the most likely candidates to finish 10th?

What d'you think Bill Russell lacks that other players on this list have?

Offensive capabilities? Does he get discredited for the level of competition? Maybe having too powerful of a supporting cast?
He's my 10th for all of those reasons. Five Thirty-Eight has an article showing if his Celtics played in a 30 team league, they'd have something in the realm of 5 or 6 rings.

Nothing to sneeze at at all, that's Showtime, Bulls, Spurs air but when you got all the other guys on the list being two-way anchors or at least #1 offensive options with defensive expectations, in larger leagues, I can't leapfrog you over them.

But at the same time I can nod my head if someone places him top 3.

Edit: It's actually 3 or 4 rings when adjusted.

What would be interesting is one could figure out the toughest era to play in and work out how many championships a chosen superstar would win in that era.

But that's interesting about Russell. I kind of ignore the championships when assessing him anyway so whether he won 3/4 or 11 it doesn't make a huge difference to me. He's difficult to judge.

shyt for me after the top 2 it's hard lol my 3-5 is locked too but the order isn't. Those 6 thru 9 all got different paths/legacies for their respective teams you wanna just go "fukk that y'all all great" :manny:

But today I feel like
6. Duncan
7. Kobe
8. Shaq
9. Bird

You have to stop letting people change their votes. That makes no sense.

thanks for bringing it to my attention I removed that option now

never paid attention to it

have you noticed people doing it or just pointing out the feature itself?

also since you're here, can you please sticky this thread?

I just think the potential is high for people to go with the flow as opposed to what they genuinely believe. I can't stick the thread, I don't mod the seum. That's on @houston911 or @CHICAGO
