How is Alonzo an anti-hero? He's a straight up crook that left his partner to die and did everything for coins. He didn't even get a hero's death. He got gunned up and clapped quick for being a snake.

If we're being totally real, none of those dudes are "hero" anything.
Just because he gets killed doesn't mean he isn't an anti-hero. And Walter White did the EXACT same thing to Jesse hat Alonzo did to Jake like hurting him just to save himself/money, but he's still an anti-hero.

I dunno. There have been instances where I've read and watched Satan embodying both sides of the spectrum better than Walter. The last episode is the only one that swings things back in place. If Walter is, then he strains the hell out of the definition.

I don't know if Michael counts breh...persuade me:isthatall:

I definitely don't feel like Tony counts
I think they're likeable villians. Maybe even a hybrid of a both protagonist and antagonist put together. Sure Mike became evil but at the same time it was like you saw his origin story in The Godfather 1. It was gradual but by the end of the movie he was full heel. And we all know what he did to his brother in G2:noah:

Tony Montana is a villian.. maybe a hybrid like Mike Corleone too. Yeah he's one of the greatest characters ever on screne but in the flick everything Tony touches turns to complete and utter sh*t. Soon has he touched down in the USA sh*t went crazy on every level. From the Cuban prison camp, to working for Sosa, and then later becoming the boss. Even corrupted his lil sister Gina.. plus who else coined the term, "Say goodnight to the bad guy"

Kinda crazy that both characters are both play by the gawd Al Pacino :win:

It's been a while since I've seen it, but, Alonzo didn't even attempt to try and hide it like Walter did. He was the main antagonist to Jake. The devil, sitting on his shoulder, trying to break his moral compass and force (literally) him to abandon his principals: to bring him to the dark side. Unlike Walter, he wasn't written to try and pull the wool over people's eyes. The ending did a great job showcasing how nobody in the hood thought he was anything other than a crooked ass cop, taking advantage for personal gain. They dealt with him, because they had too. Nah, Alonzo was more akin to Hannibal trying to get Will Graham to bask in darkness, or Jake in Nightcrawler.

Edit: The more I think about it, the more ridiculous it is that Walter ever got the pass that he got. All he had to yell (lie) was, "I'm doing this for my family :damn:" and people turned a blind eye. Dude was a virus to everyone in that show. Dexter gave more of a fukk. lol.

@kp404 is the homie since he knows his obscure shyt but :deadmanny: @ trying to argue that Alonzo is an anti-hero and not a villain. Dude is so far in the villain class that he's shaking hands with Keyser Soze and Hans Gruber.

Yeah I never saw Alonzo as an antihero. he's a straight up heel. He's Hogan with the spray painted beard
