I know I grew up in the 80s Clubber Lang was Amerikkkas worst nightmare come to life in a lot of ways. It's all context. I saw this when I was eight and all these poor Irish and Italians were fuming watching Clubber strut on-screen. I was like

Drago was a bad dude but the Cold War conflict was too fresh. Clubber Lang hit a vein and in a lot of ways was the pre-Cursor to Mike Tyson personality-wise.
