Get in where you fit in is the only acceptable answer. The Chronic changed the soundscape and he adapted. It was funky as hell.
Interesting :jbhmm:
Not sure I agree though. I feel Banks was already going in that direction on Shorty The Pimp which came out before the Chronic.

Shorty the Pimp is one of his weaker albums to me. I think The Chronic put a battery in their backs to come harder. Shorty the Pimp had live instrumentation but production wise it can't hold a candle to Get in.

I’m not saying it’s better than Get In, I’m just saying the elements of that Dangerous Crew sound with Ant Banks were already there on that album before the Chronic. They definitely ramped up on Get In :wow:
Classic. Should have gone triple.

It's similar to how Above the Law had the makings of the g-funk sound on Black Mafia Life but after the Chronic ramped it up on Uncle Sam's Curse and Kokane's 2nd album.

OP answered his own question and got it right. That album made me wanna move to California and I did. Legit used to cut the grass in high school with that album on repeat in my discman.

Y'all can't fi*k with $hort like I rock with Todd.

:hubie:

$hort could really rap tho:

I've slapped every one of his first 10+ albums all through the O.

Other notable tracks just because this is looking like a Too $hort appreciation thread:

Father Dom on this one :whew:

:picard:

Ron was special. RIP.
