A lot of folks in here in their feelings because Nick Khan said what he’s supposed to say as President of company doing billion dollar business.

If WWE wasn’t the industry leader and the place the talent wanted to be, the metrics would show it. Case closed.

This would be like Kevin Feige between Infinity War and Endgame doing media saying people think of the MCU as the underdogs and that's how they like it. How is that something you're supposed to say as the industry leader by magnitudes.

I normally don't post here but this could be misinformation and it looks like Wrestle Ops took it out of context. Apparently he wasn't talking about AEW at all.

Haven't listened to any of this yet tho because I don't have access to the podcast.

sickos doing what they do best and falling for clickbait bs. mania season always gets them in their feels.

Full context is he's talking specifically about AEW the entire time. He was not talking about sports leagues. Unreal in the same breath as acknowledging they are the industry leader and not disagreeing with BS that AEW's time as a rival seems to have passed. This is Fox News still talking about what the mainstream media tells you when they've been the mainstream media since 1996. And ending it insinuating that AEW hires people just to bench them to take away from WWE like that hasn't been WWE's thing since like...the 80s. Lmao.

Unfukking real the persecution complex these types of people have

WWE also isn't the underdog compared to real sports. WWE consistently beats all sports besides NFL on cable and has for years. TKO bought WWE for more than the average NFL, NBA, MLB, or NHL team is worth. The NBA came to terms for a $76b rights deal over 11 years. The NBA has a minimum of 1230 events a year.

WWE has signed 4 different $5b+ rights deals in the past 5 years while doing an average of about 450 events per year including Raw/SD/NXT/Main Event/Speed/Level Up/Evolve and house shows, and the tertiary shows are recorded on the same nights as other shows that inflates the number. WM is the biggest sports related money event of the year in the US outside of the Super Bowl and has been for about 15 years straight. They aren't the underdogs. They're invited to NFL/NBA/MLB/NHL and do branded marketing WITH them.

There is not a single fukking thing those billionaire fukkheads can claim to be an underdog at without the exact same delusion the GOP acts like despite having full control of every branch of government and Fox News being the dominant new network in the US for 30 fukking years. Khan saying they're the underdog when it would be like a single NBA team having the biggest event of the year every year that isn't the Super Bowl.

This would be like Kevin Feige between Infinity War and Endgame doing media saying people think of the MCU as the underdogs and that's how they like it. How is that something you're supposed to say as the industry leader by magnitudes.

I'm not mad, I do think it is some of the most ridiculous shyt I've ever heard even in the context of WWE and wrestling. Just absurd shyt to say with a straight face.

After finally watching it sounded like Nick was answering two questions. If you listen at the start the guy asks "The TV business", asking "Do you have a rival?" then the guy lumps in AEW as an added part, making it essentially 2 questions or a way to get another statement. It felt to me Nick was answering it in two parts.

I don't think the underdog response was to the AEW part but the "TV business" part which he has stated so many times before they are in competition with more than other wrestling promotions. Nick then responds after that, "In regards of the other wrestling promotional company", which indicates he's now answering that 2nd part.

Okay, even then. WWE has been number one on their night and time slot since 1999 nearly always even with channel hops and between cable and network. AEW draws half of their audience and is very frequently the top cable show on Wednesdays and a lot of times Saturdays with maybe half the Dynamite crowd. Shows on network that aren't live sports usually get even less than AEW on cable

What the fukk is he talking about being seen as the underdog :mjlol: WWE is as mainstream leader as it gets. The only competition they have in the space is the NFL. Seen as the underdog against 60 Minutes? :dead:

I don't even like to post in this thread but I just wanted to make sure correct info and context is being posted.

If that's wrong then I don't know what is right. :hubie:

To me after hearing it, people took it way over board as so many do when things are just quoted in the Twitter space.

ngl some shyt was taken out of context but nick khan did say to expect a number of talent from aew (hello mariah may) to cross over to wwe when their current contracts expire :lolbron:

he didn’t say it in those words exactly but that’s basically what he was inferring.

he didn’t say it out of nowhere either he was just answering a question :sas1: also threw in a little dig at tk freezing talent on their contracts lol
