Being a proud Black champion is definitely a great thing, and representation is very important. Also, all of the brothers in the Hurt Business (I'm including Ced) have been proudly & unapologetically Black.
I think the point that Lashley was trying to make (and other accomplished brothers and sisters have made in the past) is that while he is proud to be a Black champion, he wants to be viewed on the same level as everybody else who holds/has held a title. While I don't necessarily agree with how Lashley said what he said, I understand his point of view, especially in this era where any Black accomplishment is seen by some as a DEI gift.

AEW fans doing victory laps but if we being honest, all their new hot black wrestlers all: immediately got put with other black talent for their first go-arounds, outside of Flipochet who got put with his flippy lifepartner for a beat and then pivoted to Hobbs and then to taking Ls to Jumbo Kono...

Honestly this was one of the worst
AEW PPVs

Several times I nearly fell asleep during it

Almost every match was structured the same

The ending was an unnecessary clusterfukk


And now all the sickos are thinking AEW is back
