Yup, that's always been to me.

Zaslav can get the boot any minute or be replaced after a new merger at any point basically. And this dude Tony is making deals and assuming everything will be the same for the next 5-10 years

Khan did fire Punk himself. He used Danielson as some sort of mediator with talent close to Punk when it came time to communicate that dude was fired.

Vince had Jim Ross and Johnny Ace as the people in charge of letting people go. That's why on every shoot interview of the 2000s and 2010s, almost every wrestler said "Vince really liked me, but Johnny was an a$$hole, we couldn't get along and that's why I was let go" or some iteration of that

Using Danielson is questionable, but this is basically standard practice, specially in wrestling.
