The folks at Netflix don't know that wrestling comes on on Wednesday nights:
John Mulaney has revealed that his new Netflix talk show airs on Wednesday due to Netflix’s airing of WWE Raw and Smackdown. Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney premiered on Wednesday and the comedian spoke with Jimmy Kimmel to promote it, noting that the Wednesday airing is due to, among other things, Netflix airing Raw worldwide and Smackdown internationally on Mondays and Fridays.
“Wednesday is traditionally the hottest night of the week,” Mulaney joked (per Fightful). “There is another live show on Saturdays that you wouldn’t want to compete with. Then, there is Friday night. I go, ‘Let’s do Friday night.’ They go, ‘We have wrestling on Friday night.’ I go, ‘Oh, okay.’ ‘We have to devote our live time to wrestling.’ That’s fair. ‘What about Thursday?’ ‘We have new shows premiering on Thursday so we wouldn’t help your show because we’d be pushing our other shows.’ Okay, not very nice.”
He continued, “I’m driving and I see a billboard for Monday Night Raw. ‘Wait, wrestling is on Monday.’ I call Netflix, ‘What’s the deal? You said wrestling was on Friday.’ ‘That’s international wrestling.’ ‘Oh, I’m so sorry.’ Wouldn’t want to step on the beloved hit international wrestling. They said, ‘What about Wednesday?’ At this point, I’m so tired of the conversation I said that’s fine with me.”
