I can't believe how many people are shocked by this tired faux intellectual shtick.

These two have made a career emotionally manipulating black folks over money, money, money. They know most black people's greatest grievances and insecurities are money, feeling poor, unsuccessful, stonewalled, discriminated against, and financially unstable. Preying on this has been Yvette's hustle since her failed stint as a Bernie Bro activist didn't get her any clout. And they know the easiest way to emotionally rile up black people over anything is to stoke up anger and envy using other black people. Yvette and Tone wants you to feel most fearful and competitive against a successful West African immigrant in your community, not any European or Asian ones. Their businesses can flourish. Yvette and Tone wants you to feel outraged about this black TV show because they tryna fool us and blah blah blah....oh but continue enjoying anything else you want on Netflix. No grand conspiracies to mislead you to your downfall on those. Yvette and Tone--and for that matter every single one of these YouTube militants--wants you to condemn every black public figure, politician, and celebrity in America for not being pigeonheld into some extremist view or agenda that we all know lacks pragmatism. But this hey, we've invited this Paul Stowers guy to our big exclusive African Americans only conference to speak on us. He can be trusted.

Same with Tariq Nasheed and the rest. They've all built up careers taking every insecurity black people have, turning us against other black people over them, and then telling us they alone are the most uncompromising voices of our issues--no other black people, especially those who are successful public figures, are to be trusted. Even folk who have true, successful credentials on the subjects they rave about aren't to be trusted, like award winning author and historian Ta-Nehisi Coates and award winning journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones who have both done more extensive, peer-reviewed, reputable work on reparations than any ADOS activist could be bothered. In fact according to these hustlers they are the secret enemies. And why? Because they didn't extend their clout to their broke asses nor did they choose to frame reparations around their John Tanton astroturf scheme of rallying black folks against immigration and Democrats and other right wing agendas.

The hustle they play on us is so obvious, nefarious and insulting to our intelligence. I can't believe half this forum thought they were looking at the second coming of Malcolm X at one point--even after her shady background with pro-eugenics activist. Even after Paul Stowers. These clowns know they are regressing and misleading black politics just to gain a cultish audience.

I agree with Tone on somethings, but I disagree with this idea that Black people aren't allowed to have fantasies.

Like who the fukk things most Black people are rich?

Like, we know we broke.

Most White folks don't live like "Friends" and "90210", but those are still hits.

It'd be like arguing that all White shows need to be "Roseanne" because that's how most White folks live.

What are black people doing on social media other than modeling material possessions that rich white people create.

Show me the examples of the abundance of posts showing "wealth" and not just expensive merchandise.?

Ignore what I said about many of our people's inability to critically think and act as if the exhibition of those trinkets isn't enough, brehs.

Even putting all the socio-economic issues aside, aren’t artists allowed the freedom to express themselves their artistically? That is some totalitarian shyt.

Kenya Barris is literally mining from his life and using that as to express himself artistically. Very successfully I might add.

This “Emmy nominated producer” would sell his soul to have Kenya’s life.

Or maybe he just hating because of his first name. :lolbron:

He's right, though, about how most black people's perception of their community has been skewed by the programming of their minds by various mediums - social media, music, television, professional sports. Black people have become the face of wealth in America, despite being beneath the barrel, the poorest of the poor, the people whose median worth is less than what your average white person makes in a week. He also hits it out the park when speaking on how this crisis has pulled the curtain to the side and exposed the horrific poverty the majority of black people suffer from. Black America is fighting for its life against a virus that is decimating a black community crippled by white supremacy.

It's a sad pathology, a need to see a false image of who we truly are. We'd rather trade in fantasy depictions of black life rather than accept we are on life support.

This isn't "Low quality posting" he's right in a sense.

To make this real simple, we're the only race who gets out political advice and movements from entertainers, that in itslef is a problem.

Tone is right on this show.

To this day cacs still have podcast on that show" The wire".

Tone is okay, but dude is like a sad sack of information and just criticizes everything Black. Black people can't do this, Black people can not do that, You Black people are broke and only have $10.00 in your saving account and here is the Data.

I have not seen a video that was positive or uplifting for Black people or gave some solutions for struggling Black people.

If he didn't say that you wouldn't listen, if he just spoke on certain aspects you wouldn't listen since that doesn't pertain to you.

He's not lying but he doesn't give much solutions but not much really can be done except educate and work together.

A certain mod who shall go unnamed always tags my posts as "Low Quality" and issues a warning when I speak the truth about certain pathologies in our community. He thinks I sound like a white supremacist. :mjlol:

We can't have it both ways, gangster rap music and fronting and flossing and then complaining when cacs use that to make money. They constantly watch us and think of ways to make money off us this is known.

IMO we gotta shut it all down and build it back up.

It's a classic, timeworn tactic that imperialists have used on every oppressed class of people - starve the masses and dangle a promise of wealth before the venal few who are willing to sell their people out. It is a social and economic con game that black people have been victimized by since we were supposedly "emancipated" from slavery. :francis:
