I would have preferred to be ignorant of whatever Hulk felt in his personal life because it didn't hurt anybody and he never used his "racist" sentiment to hold anybody down. He always made sure his people were compensated including his black friends.

if Hogan went off about Jenner, gay marriage etc they'd be allowed to be upset for a few weeks at the very least

Cats weren't even done reading the transcripts before the Internet was a buzzing about "it's time to forgive guys/sins and cast stones/sticks and stones/other cliches"

It's hard for people to see their heroes or friends have to go through this type of scrutiny especially those who don't grasp the way racism affects the people it is directed towards. It's easier for them to just say "The world is too sensitive" or "The media has too much power" than to actually take a deep look at the problem with racism and take a stand against it.
