This is kinda off topic but I've had several people approach me (especially during the pandemic) about starting a podcast and I've always looked at them crazy.

It takes a special kind of narcissism to think your mundane conversations with friends or even just your general stream-of-consciousness rants, are not only worthy enough to be recorded and broadcast to the wider world, but in fact, content people should be eager to pay for. Absolute delusion.

exactly. I have some ideas about shyt and I know some youtubers and former youtubers the formers say it's not worth the time and effort for the money you make. You have to contradict yourself and you don't even have to get that many fews to be "famous". The one who make ok money is the ones who upload content daily. The travel channels are always whipping out their camera trying to get some footage and go live at random times.
The amount of information that you gradually reveal about yourself is too much even if you try to have a topic and stick to it. People will superchat you random questions and you have to give an answer.

Then there's the "fans" the people who consistently donate be superfans and I never heard one Youtuber tell me that they didn't have several wierd ass donators. They all say that they don't like meeting them in person because they're usually wierd. That being said even small channels get random fan girls that want to meet up to fukk.

That's the reason that held me back from Youtubing.

I don't know what it is about Youtube clout but unless you're making millions (and it's super hard to make this kind of money off of Youtube now) all them nikkas usually trick it off and use it to flex on nikkas and then be surprised when the donations start to dry up. nikkas start feeling entitled to nikkas just giving them money for no reason, They forget what it's like to be broke, nikkas be recording from a professional stuido in a gate community and asking "broke asses" to Please Donate or outright demanding a handout. It's really funny to see conservative youtubers rail about "welfare" then turn around an ask for a donation. They don't even throw them some merch that they sell.
