The team from WUSA9 was covering a story about a home invasion when it was sprayed with Mace or pepper spray by a woman who rushed outside of her home as the reporter and photographer stood on a public sidewalk.
They were talking to a postal carrier about the crime, when the woman went on the attack.
She even hit the reporter and photographer.
Despite the video evidence, the TV station does not plan to press charges.

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A WUSA9 crew went to Southern Avenue in Southeast DC to report on a home invasion and several people held hostage overnight.
The story took an abrupt turn when our team of Bruce Johnson and photographer Daniell Gill were attacked by a woman from inside the home.
Yesterday, the WUSA9 crew was dispatched to Southern Avenue in Southeast to investigate a reported home invasion that occurred early Wednesday morning, wherein four armed men allegedly held eight people hostage in their own home, and assaulted three of them, according to police.
While knocking on neighbors' doors, WUSA9's Bruce Johnson and photographer Danielle Gill were attacked standing in front of the house where the alleged home invasion took place. After yelling at Johnson and Gill to get away from an upstairs window, the woman came outside, sprayed mace at them and then threw some punches.

This is why the other week when they had that bullshyt UK vs USA thread and people on both sides flexing on how tough they, I can't help but be anything other than unimpressed and bemused, because when push comes to shove none of that means a damn thing when you won't even defend yourself from outside sources who clearly hate you. Black folk are either too cowardly to stand up and defend their communities, or they take the easy way out by waiting for some mystery man on a horse and chariot to come down from the sky and fix all our woes.
Similar to LA, there was nearly an all out race war in Birmingham (UK) back in 2005 between the blacks and the asian (Pakistani, Bangladeshi) communities. Now the muslims and sikhs generally hate each other, but the word on the street was that if shyt ever really got real then they would immediately put all their difference aside and unite under the banner of Asian. They were going around threatening black men AND women and even killed a brotha in the process. What did black folk do about that? Nothing. There's two main rival black gangs in that city who were warring for years, yet those negroes were nowhere to be found. It's the same story all over.
