Tomb Raider (PSN-DD version) has online only DRM, Internet required to launch

There are only 5 online DRM games on PSN. Tomb Raider is the first big release to do it. MLB 13 dropped yesterday too and it doesn't have the DRM requirement. It's publisher bruh.

fukked up part is you had to read the notes/overview of the game to see that language when buying it. As long as you can sign into PSN, you have no problem, but if you are offline, you are fukked trying to play the digital version since it validates you being signed into PSN to start the game up.

Better read the notes for every day 1 digital game you cop on PSN to make sure. I prefer discs so I can recoup some of my bread.

see..and this is why I ALWAYS tell nikkas not to turn their back on physical media...the less physical...the less u actually own it...that's how I feel...

I have MLB The Show (made by Sony) downloaded from PSN. If this was Sony's doing, wouldn't logic tell me that I wouldn't be able to play that game while offline? Except I can (and actually have to right now, as when I download the update, I get a corrupt install error, but that's a story for another thread). Point is, I can play the game just fine offline.

This isn't new.

Last year (or the year before) they changed it to where you can only have 2 ps3s activated at a time meaning anything you bought with your account is limited to those 2 ps3s. It used to be 5. So anything you download from the ps store with your account can't be played on another account. Same shyt with the vita.

All digital download are tied to your account (duh!)

I was gonna cop mlb 13 via the store, but I wanted the disc so I could recoup later this year if I needed to sell it.

well yea, its sony online infrastructure its up to them to determine if online only game policy is allowed on their network. this type of DRM isn't required for the PC version
