You never really see sexually successful single black men in mainstream media. They are always

  • Comic relief goofball, lusts after a main nonblack female character that has no interest in them
  • A cool competent Breh that has leadership qualities but chooses to take a subordinate role for some reason. Always older and married. If not, damn near asexual with no interest in women
  • A flamboyant gay man
I swear the dynamics of race and sexuality in America society are going to be studied in the future :wow:

There was a era that these dudes were the "Chads" of our generation:

Now here's the dilemma with black masculinity within Hollywood...it will take away the aura and presence of pasty cacs that's dominating the entire industry. It doesn't help that black folks are accustomed to the agenda and even look at this issue as "get that bag black man". Instead of being like "fukk THIS". My son shouldn't be putting his palm to his face with black superheroes, either funny style or gay AF. Hell, we don't even have the "nerdy" black dude anymore in Hollywood and back then, black folks were wild vocal about those roles.

We are so down bad between the mental conditioning of agenda pushing, the broken economy, and how twisted Hollywood is that we will never get powerful black kings on the silver screen, unless they can drop and get the eagle on, take Tubi roles, or will play the game :francis: .

We really didn't know a good thing until its gone word to the gawd:

I'm tripping over the stereotypical gay black dude. Trust, once you realized that one time Lara's boobs look like this:

Snap back to reality with lusting over polygons.
there were so many fake nude codes/tricks circulating for her back in the day. its kinda crazy how obvious rumors spun out of control back in the day

Of course :dead:

They always change the characters like this and it never works :dead: because

Women actually WANT their female leads to be strong AND feminine and stereotypicaly beautiful. And straight. It's a power fantasy!

Women watched Wonder Woman but skipped the Marvel's for a reason... hint: gal gadot was attractive. No one gave a fukk she didn't have muscular arms. They loved her and loved her romance with a dude.

So making the female lead "hard" looking won't appeal to anyone.

And ANOTHER Netflix series where the gay dude is black. I got no issues with gay folks but they always set it up like this and I don't get the target audience.

Again, I don't have a problem with gay people, lesbisns, etc. Like others do. I've watched shows with them
Word. Their fanbase is not checking for this. Why keep doing this? I don’t even think the gay Tomb Raider fans are pressed about gay representation like that either. So who is this really for?

I don't get bothered by things like this, but this shyt is so stupid.

Woman? Check.
LGBTQ Representation? Double check.
Black? Check.

Maybe it would actually be a good show but these things tend to turn into commentary pieces which again I don't get bothered by BUT it can make the product trash overall.

I LOVE Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law.

Then we got the spiritual successor "Birdgirl"

I enjoyed birdgirl, but it totally lost the spirit that makes Harvey Birdman immortal due to the over-pronounced representation and contemporary topical writing. Literally see the gay dude on the left. Flamboyantly gay at that. Absolutely did not mind it, but thinking as someone who enjoyed how subtle cartoons used to be when targeted toward adults, these things scream "New presentation for a new audience." They are not made to be timeless, just period specific, and tend to sacrifice certain elements to make it work. I have worked in a place with a well above average LGBTQ staff (in fact they were the majority) but I knew always the moment I stepped out of that door, it was not the norm. When you take a show with established characters and shoehorn certain elements in, folks either expect an explanation or at least well thought-out characters and not just some snarky gay character meant to check a box.

Obviously, none of this matters to the "I'm tired of all this gay shyt" dummies who lose it at the sight of one.
