There hasn't been a genuinely good resident evil film ever and that franchise been making easy checks for a decade.Unless it's a genuinely good film () it will do badly. The recent games have done okay, but TR's brand/tie-in product isn't nearly strong enough to push a film like this to big money (think Marvel, Harry Potter, Hunger Games).
the old tomb raider movies are trash too and the games were worse
shyt, the asscreed movie and prince of persia flicks screwed themselves because of simply bad choices in development. all they have to do is not shoot themselves in the foot, make some easy money, and keep it moving. ironically the biggest issue with both is that they tried to do the exact same shyt that pissed off their gaming fanbases. all indications show that people like the new laura more than the old one.
you don't need to be genuinely good to make money lol. that being said, this doesn't look bad at all compared to many similar properties...
i still struggle to understand the love affair with the old laura. her movies were trash, the games were trash, and most importantly - if you want to see titties bounce, there are millions of better options so the attachment to her's in particular are just flat out weird.
