recruiting services arent always right its true, but thats the current metric1st... LOL @ recruiting services. I saw on another board where somebody(Auburn fan) said they wish Gus was a better evaluator of kids coming out of HS and not rely on recruiting services. I couldn't believe it, but now I do.
2nd... It ain't just Tim Jernigan, that whole DL group has to play as 1. We do that, we're good to go.
3rd... I'm not even going to talk about stats.
4th...Not sure why you would be afraid of OSU, I think that's who you rather be playing. Better chance at beating OSU.
5th... Yeah, he's taking some sacks that he shouldn't have taken(mostly his fault). What you haven't looked at was, Jameis vs the Blitz or Jameis vs 3rd downs.
and frankly we have just as much talent(if not far more on both O and D Lines)
people talk up Goldman and Edwards, but Adams and Lawson are both 5 stars, so is Gabe Wright and Owens and Ford are both 4 stars.
Our issues defending the run stem from LB play rather than them. They often blow up gaps but inadequate play from Holland and Frost usually lead to the gains up the middle. Folks like to say well Auburn gave up passes....to who tho
Dorial Green Beckham, Odell Beckham Jr, Amari Cooper Mike Evans all of them are going to be in the NFL, this isnt the same SEC it was in 2004. Offensive talent has caught up and in some cases has exceeded defensive talent across our league.
The reason i point out Tim Jernigan is that the true way to blow up Auburns run game is stonewalling the A gaps. If they become open(as they usually do) we have a field day. The only team to successfully hold those gaps down was MISS STATE. Not even LSU who has far better DLine talent than either Auburn OR FSU. Its a schematic thing.
OSU is a well developed team and despite teh Big Ten hate is far more battle tested than people give them credit for. The Big Ten by and large is more talented imo than the Pac 12 or the ACC. I think that will show up in bowl games
