Of course they are. Tom Cruise probably been dying to do space stunts in MI but studio won't risk it.

On a serious note, there's been a revival of "serious" space movies going on for quite a while but it's clear that Musk is betting on a full resurrection of public interest in space travel.

This movie will be expensive marketing for Space X and NASA as interest in space travel has diminished over the years.
