This is what frightens me about making changes. A new GM will want to pick his coach and a new coach will want to pick his coordinators. The Giants issues aren't with the scheme, it's just a lack of talent and depth. The next two years become a complete wash if you overhaul the entire staff

Its about time he got lucky for two years and underachieved every other year... I will say tho, whoever was making roster decisions needs to stay, this team stay with a breakout WR and a solid defense or atleast good enough players to have a solid defense

Bro, Coughlin takes the bullet for everyone by stepping down, I believe. He is the only old timer, his legacy is established, he is HOF bound and he is wise enough to bow out before being shown the door. If this is true, then he is the class act that he is perceived as. I feel that the only backlash would be that if it was known that he was grooming either Coordinator to take over the reigns. Other than that, a classy move on his behalf. He may still want to Coach, hopefully the organization employees him in some form or manner, but it was just time.
People that watch the Giants know that a couple Key injuries kept them from the playoffs. And every team in the NFL knows that you can't take an Eli Manning led team lightly in the playoffs! And that's word to NFL FOX SUNDAY!

Them smilies in the OP summed up his tenure there. Had a good run though. Seems like he's a pretty good dude too. I think he's getting a little long in the tooth though. Wish the Lions had two ring within a decade TC was underrated his entire time in NYC. People love to point the finger to Eli as the man who got this championships, but football fans know it was the defense that did it twice.

what is the logic in saying this? Saying you beat a bunch of cheaters just means your actual victory is under question because said cheaters shouldn't have reached the super bowl to begin with.
