North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Brady was one of the biggest beneficiaries of said NFL. They created rules just for him!

But that’s just once part of it.

Hits across the middle changed. First to accommodate Manning, then to counter the legion of boom.

The players negotiated no two a days, and less padded practices. Resulting in bad blocking and tackling.

For QB’s, rookie contracts and the salary cap compels teams to play rookies even if they’re not ready. They get thrown to the wolves and as a result you have inconsistent QB play and a revolving door or a lot of overplayed QB’s.

The salary cap.

Bad officiating

Too many rule changes

It’s not just one thing, it’s a culmination of a bunch of factors.

The Patriots were able to navigate parity and to an extent the Steelers but even those teams won ugly.

Love how folks just say the part in bold without actually talking about WHY they negotiated no two a days. As if there isn't a big medical reason for it :mjlol:

The present-day fan don't like to hear it, but all of sports seems watered down/formulaic now.I doubt we'll ever see some innovative shyt like Air Coryell or the Greatest Show On Turf again. It's like we've exhausted every idea & strategy.Empty on ingenuity.Even when you go over to the NBA, nearly every team plays the exact same cotdamn way.Personally, I feel like both leagues peaked far as love for the game, entertainment value, revenue/commercial success all being in total alignment 1985-2015.It's been spiking down since.

The coach who designed this play was fired after that season. He was immediately picked up by the Broncos and took them from the 3rd ranked ST to dead last. He was fired and immediately picked up the Raiders and is currently ruining their ST. Dude is a menace.

When you let people that that keep getting work, it's not too hard to see why.

Like another cat said though, sports really around the globe has taken a hit. People have nearly seen everything.

Even ESPN's TikTok account at one point was just posting random TikTok videos from around the world from ordinary people doing random shyt.

People aren't tuning in to watch as much anymore, random TikToks around the world get more views.

The view counts on videos are low key sad knowing what view counts mid-popular TikTokers do:
ESPN's TikTok:
vs
TikTok Explore for Anime & Comics, Daily Life, etc.

Brady didn't make the rules but obviously he took advantage of them, but he was built in one era, and ended in another and delivered in both or all of them :yeshrug:

I think growing up with these rules is not the same as being introduced to these rules later on in your career.

But people are stuck on this factor, when he named like 10-15 different things across the interview, cause they wanna argue. But you are just arguing with yourself, cause he said it was a mix of a mad factors.

The popularity of professional Sports ain’t declining any time soon. The powers that be know sports is the glue that holds society together. Lowkey, The Social fabric would break down without it. Sports is also a multi-billion dollar industry. Too many people depend on the professional sports industry to make a Living. Sports is the main reason a lot of people still pay for cable. Because it’s the best and only live television product worth watching.
