its because every form of content we consume (aside from movies) is seconds to maybe 2-3mins max. People don't have the attention span anymore.
While I agree about attention spans, plenty albums have taken the country and world by storm over the last few years. Including Taylor Swift and Harry Styles last year. The Adele album in 2021. Rap wise there's Drake, especially the album with 21. But no one has really put up insane rap numbers comparable to what we're seeing from the biggest white artists right now.

I was on 50 when How To Rob came out in The Source in 1999, I had the cd single, I still have that somewhere, and the Power Of the Dollar EP. I had the In Too Deep soundtrack when it came out too.

So, to follow his rise and fall, and then straight ascent into the entire countries mind was surreal and very fun, because everyone was telling me back in school how I put them on to 50, and how I wouldn't shut up about him for years.

While those albums were big its still not the same. Now that the entire music library is at out fingertips it will NEVER be like that again. When you had to go to the store it pay 14.99 for an album it stayed in rotation if it was dope. You didn't bumped for a couple days and move on. The hype and the buz was crazy at that time. If you were there you know what Im talking about. It was truly a moment in time.

I still remember my Dad driving me around in a snow storm trying to find the album. It was sold out everywhere. I told him to forget it but I had a rare hot streak of good grades in school so he wanted to reward me. We went to like 5 stores all sold out. I still remember my dad ranting in the car
" How is this sold out everywhere? what is the big damn deal? I never even heard of him" :russ:.

When I finally got the album it pretty much never left my CD player. It was my soundtrack for junior year of high school. There are few classics like this album. The songs themselves trigger my brain to go back to those times. I can still feel the cold of the bus stop. Still can see the walls of my high school. Still can see the girl I was messing with at the time. All that might sound corny but IDGF. It was a special album for special time. Im not saying its a 10/10 masterpiece cause its not. ( it wasn't then)Probably not in my top 20 albums in terms of quality but in terms of impact and how often I played it.. its def at the top of the list
