Yemen President was elected. The people thought he was a western puppet and forced him into exile (a coup). He fled to Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia took his side. Iran took the rebels side. And a proxy war has been going on ever since. Coups happen all the time. But this is one coup where Saudi Arabia and the United States have helped try to stop, because the controlling force is Allies with Iran. Why?

Simple. They don’t want Iranian influence in the region. Yemen rises up and becomes an Iranian ally and thrives, who’s to say it won’t happen in the UAE or Qatar. Saudi Arabia enjoys being the big dog in the Middle East because the US gives them weapons and protection. They are essentially Israel 2.0. The only reason Israel exists is because the west wanted a white ally in the Middle East. Saudi Arabia wasn’t enough. At the end of the day, they’re still Arabs and Muslims. Who’s to say they don’t become the next Iran. A unified Middle East is a threat to western civilization.
