Trying to be strong for the family but broke down while driving back to our hometown.
He was helping take care of our grandmother while working full-time and I could tell his health was worsening. He died, we think, in his sleep.
We traveled the country last Christmas and I showed him around NYC, DC, Boston, etc. We kicked it in Myrtle Beach and Panama City. Wanted to show him Chapel Hill and Durham. I showed him around MIT, we talked about life.
We got to meet our dad's side of the family for the first time.
I was probably the only person he opened up to about anything.
He was a prolific high-school and college baller, but more importantly, he was a genuinely good person.
