About a month ago I was let go from my job and I've been having a really difficult time finding employment. Last night I got a call from a job and set up an interview. On the way to the interview there was heavy traffic and if anyone knows about the 91 in So.Cal they know the traffic is unforgiving bumper to bumper and I was know doubt going to be late to my interveiw. Instead of getting upset I relaxed and said a calm prayer to the Lord. Not to get me out of traffic but to help me follow the path he has laid out for me and to give me the courage to follow it.

About 15min later I was clear from traffic and was able to make it to my interview early. I aced it and was offered a position later that day. I also got a job offer from another business I applied for weeks ago.

By the grase of God not only did he answer my prayers but he gave me an option to pick wich job I want to be employed by. I started today with nothing on my plate and ended it with two plates to pick from. I know we have a lot of people that make fun of Christianity on this forum but I wanted to share an instance when I felt the Lord was working for me and answered a prayer.

Just wanted to share. all comments welcome.

God is good

i see swagmar below about to hate :beli:
:beli:

Traffic becoming decongested allowing this dunce to get to his job interview on time is evidence of God now? God is really taking time to unclog the traffic for him while across the world little babies are saying unanswered prayers begging God that they not starve to death?

You see God, I see pure luck. You lucked out, that's all. It certainly wasn't worth a thread creation in HIGHER LEARNING. Post that shyt in the locker room.

You see luck I see faith. That's that... sad that you feel everything that's not clouds and rainbows is the fault of God and that's it. You should read your bible

Well we have two scenarios here. God answers prayers, or he doesn't answer prayers.

If he answered your stupid petty prayer of "let me make it to this job interview on time" then he is ABLE to answer and grant prayers.

Are there children in the world who starved to death while praying to god for food? YES.

So God is willingly choosing your prayer over the other? Doesn't seem likely :rudy:

It's the equivalent of God helping Ray Lewis win the superbowl. He's got bigger fish to fry in this fukked up world.

How about next time you use your prayer that God grants, it's for something actually beneficial to all humans, like ending poverty or ending world hunger? Maybe you should read your bible more..

Congrats on the new job, I'm sure it will feed a lot of starving children :shaq2:

First off, congratulations. I really mean that.

But I'm glad that God answered your prayer in finding a job and helping Tebow win football games instead of keeping millions of children from dying of starvation and disease.

I didn't pray for traffic to be cleared. If I didn't make it to the interview I wouldve took it as that not being in Gods plan for me. You guys are stuck on how many children have died but never say anything about how many people the Lord had saved from starvation and death.
