I think it's cause his father recently passed away so must have effected him. I assume they will reschedule the fight on a later card.

They are not as crazy to put it on PPV on a small market like ours in the early morning hours.
What I don’t get is how they can’t secure this in Mexico and other countries of Latin-America of all places when these would likely some of the biggest markets for a Canelo fight.

Clearly he didn’t choose this fight to cater to casuals but to get one of them 175lbs belts and because he gets a shytload of money for it. Not every fight has to be some hypebeast promotion, it’s nice when a lot of casuals tune in (not in the comment section though ) but doesn’t take anything away from my experience if they don’t.
Hype isn’t the measuring stick of how good a fight will be. Canelo vs Chavez had more hype then most of his other fights and it was a damn mismatch.
Whether DAZN earns or loses money on this is in them, I wouldn’t buy a PPV for the prices you guys getting it in the States either way, different consumer habits.

If anything this is a fight that the hardcore fan should appreciate. Canelo is already first ballot hall of fame. He could just chill and fight YouTubers for the rest of his career. But he's still trying to make history. You think any of these guys chasing canelo would have the heart to fight a guy like bivol?....bivol would be the best fighter on any of their resumes by a huge margin. But that's too much risk for the reward right


In only his 2nd fight at 175 canelo is already fighting a better opponent than beterbiev ever fought. Think about that. Just a GOAT doing GOAT things

Agree except the Beterbiev diss, these 175er guys actually fighting each other here and there unlike the current 168 and 160 scenes. Beterbiev beat Gvozdyk who imo was better than Bivol.

I still think bivol and Artur should have fought already. But both sides stalled it out to secure that canelo bag. And it looks like their plan is gonna pay off. Literally
