So like what... less than 1% of the population? Damn near all skillsets can be replaced by robots.

doubt that.

I dont think High-level Blue collar jobs could be replaced by robots.

Any job that requires years and years of experience (engineering etc) won't replaced either.

Robots will NEVER replace the sales deptartment.

Why wouldn't Robots be able to do engineering? It's all math. Again, you're still talking about an incredibly small portion of our population.

this is interesting to think about. the cost of production would go to practically zero and we'd have some sort of like "true" communist utopia marx talks about where there's a shortage of nothing.

I can't really comment on the conspiratorial tones in the op and other posts.

Some people would say this is the end goal, where all human NEEDS (Most Importantly) and Wants are taken care of by robots ..... so there will be no need to "Work to Survive"

as displayed by the movie Walle-E

Others would say, this future is possible, but the real end goal is Transhumanism and those not "lucky" or "don't desire" to be part robot will see this fate ascribed at the top of them stone carvings in suburban Atlanta.....

Why would you need engineers? what's the point of investing in technology if you run everything? Just lay back, f*ck your harem of sex slaves, and chill :win:

I think the only inevitable outcomes are socialism or genocide, roughly 75-100 years from now. I am an optimist, but Its going to be a hell of a transition to get to socialism, especially as corporations gain more power, money keeps going up the pyramid, and you have a conscious-less security force protecting that money.

I think large swaths of people will spend most of their time in simulated environments because its cheaper and really more efficient to create a virtual world than the real thing. As robot/automated intelligence takes over more day to day tasks autonomously, it may be hard to cope with those changes as you can't even begin to comprehend a robot's logic.

We might end up in the Matrix willingly.

The finite nature of the planet itself begs to differ.
Scarcity will always be an issue, and the allocation of these scarce resources, (whatever they may be), will continue to be an issue...

Whether or not market economies will continue to be the best mechanism for this allocation is unknown.

We are already in multiple matrices.
