houston has the absolute worst humidity in the country. i take a 113 degree dry heat rather than a 89 degree humid day. its humid as fukk in houston because the near the water.

don't come to dallas, everybody and their mama moving down here from the united states
Worse than anywhere in Florida?

How down there treating a chi breh?

man it's ok. I don't know anyone really outside of work people. plus my family (outside my kids/wife) aren't here. and I don't like living in an apartment after having a house for the last 8 years. that said, the job is going good, and no state tax is :blessed:

and I took a 5 figure pay increase to come here.

it seems like jobs are pretty plentiful, and the area is really being built up like crazy in the north dallas area and north dallas suburbs.

I'll re-evaluate my situation this summer when the lease is up. I still got my house up there, so I can go home whenever I want. I was just in the chi last weekend. I'll like it in the winter when it's like 80 in november. btw, I got here in july and the first two months (july/aug) were fukking BRUTAL due to the extreme heat. not used to every day being over 95 for months straight where u can't go outside hardly.

If I were from a comparable city like atlanta, houston or nashville, I'd be loving it here. but there's not a comparision between dallas and a world class city like chicago. my wife likes it a lot here, so things might come to a head if I ever decide I wanna go back home for good. and I'm still listening to job offers. just havent found a comparable job in the chi that's paying me what I want.

In that order.

Austin is booming job market is crazy. That goes for all 4 cities I listed as well. Housing in ATX is a mess though. Folks from Cali and other places buying homes at any price because its cheaper that where they were at though.

You can start a business in any of these cities and will be alright if you keep your shyt straight.

Good to know, especially on the business front . Yeah a lot of folks from Cali are moving to texas, due to the plentiful jobs, lower cost of living, and the more lax gun laws. I wish I had known more of this before I had moved to Phoenix.

I see what you mean by world class city. I often do a lot of comparison between different cities and Los Angeles. From what Ive heard on this thread, Dallas has a lot of potential, and could offer a lot of what I need.

Ive been seriously thinking about relocating to Texas within the next year. I'm real tired of Phoenix. Tired, tired, tired of seeing old white cacs, dusty lookin' fatasses, a lack of urban culture/lack of diversity, the heat, HOA's, shytty work ethic, and the dry ass environment. Im looking for somewhere with a better environment/weather- yeah I know Texas is humid), more cultural and ethnic diversity, more recreational shyt, better nightlife, better real estate market for investing. Can ya'll lend a hand?

If you're trying to escape the heat Texas is the wrong place to look. Growing up we had 4 seasons, now we get 8 months of heat and some relief for 4 months.

But look at the Dfw if you really wanna come.
