I would assume that most people born to generation Xers have parents who listen to rap. The last generation that didn't grow up with rap are in their late 40s/early 50s. As for me, no...my parents were baby boomers they didn't get rap. But I'm grateful for that cause it gave me an appreciation for 60s soul music and other black genres.

Damn this thread makes me feel :flabbynsick:

I was exposed to hip hop early on thru my older sister and older cousins. shyt like Run DMC, LL Cool J, and Eric B And Rakim. I remember when Krush Groove came out on VHS and it was passed around the family. My parents are baby boomers so classic R&B was constantly played around the house. Records too. Between my parents they prolly got over 1,000 of them which they still keep in alphabetical order lol.

My dad is a DJ but never really listens to his personal favorites around me, He did play some Big Daddy Kane one day that's about it. Artists he did put me on was Outkast, Goodie Mob, and Big Krit and I continued from there.
