he took a good uppercut and a really good body shot then turned into a punch he never saw. he was hurt but i knew he was not going to beat the count because of the body shot. stevenson really broke this guy down.
not a heavy shot but nice follow through which is what you really want to have on a guy turning into your shot. follow through on a guy turning into your shot is devastating because force meets force. thats why home runs really jump off the bat against a guy who is throwing really hard. force meets force.
this ko really reminded me of the way pernell whitaker knocked out juan nazario. same short force meets force type shot. nasty.

Let's just not undertestimate Kovalev's offensive skills
He is capable of any kind of punches, when it comes to the offense he is a beast. His weaknesses are his mediocre defense and the lack of in-fighting.
I'd still say a Stevenson vs Kovalev would be around 50-50

Stevenson showed something he didn't really do so far so I was pretty impressed. I think about inside fighting skills and going to the body more. He's still not a defesive wizard though but he is just not that type of a fighter

Kovalev can't throw uppercuts really well, and like you said his inside game is non exist. He's money offensively from mid to long range though.Let's just not undertestimate Kovalev's offensive skills

I kinda agree. I feel like KOv is a better boxer but he has way more flaws than Adonis. Adonis is stronger but on the outside I don't see how Kov deals with those left counters breh
adonis is also older and not active like he should be....he is slowing down..his offense still begins and ends with his left hand although i liked his body work..i just dont see john david not having a plan for kovalev to nullify that
I think his jab and range neutralizes most of what Chickenson can do on the inside. And Chickenson's speed is usually only a factor for about 3 to 5 rounds. Then he starts to slow down. We seen that against Fonfara, another long rangy guy that was able to keep him out of range for most of the fight.
