Just give me a Roy/mayo combo and im good :win:

I dont think we need another big because teams are going small anyway...

We definitely need another big. That's crucial. They need a rim protector that could also give Love and Pekovic a breather. All they have behind Love and Pek is Tolliver if he re-ups or Darko if he's not amnestied.

Agreed with pretty much everything that you two have said. The trade is anti-climactic but when you look at what he does and his stats, he's what we needed out of Wes J/Webster/Beasley last year. Rubio should get him good looks all over the floor.

On Free Agency, I've soured a little on Mayo after hearing him say he wanted to be a point guard. But I think Roy, bad knees and all, would be a solid pick up. We need to up this teams BB IQ.

why would you want roy though? shot knees. wont be able to play back to backs. i say no thanks

Nor would we ask him to. All I'd really ask Roy to do is take Wayne Ellington's minutes.

More on Air Bud

Wolves officially announce Chase Budinger trade, Kahn calls him "proven shot maker" who has an "excellent all-around game."
Adelman in a team statement says Budinger will help the team's perimeter game with his athleticism and shooting ability.
Budinger said he felt he stood around too much in Kevin McHale's offense last season, likes that Adelman's system is based on movement

Presser tomorrow at 3 eastern

Don't be surprised if the team just waives Martell Webster for $600K and Brad Miller.

A decision by Alexey Shved will be made next week.

According to JerryZ the Wolves don't have interest in trading Wes Johnson.

and Derrick Williams now weighs 233 lbs but wants to get down to 225.

They don't view Chase as a starter.

They ARE interested in Roy, but denies the interest in signing Alexey Shved

If they jump back intro the draft it will be to target one or two guys

Kahn on more moves?: "We're not done."

I was about to ask bout an update. Hopefully we can land a talented SG. I know Batum and Gordon are long shots, but you add either one of those guys with our core of Love Rubio and Pek....we'll be playoff bound this year.

Draft day....since we don't have a pick, here's some speculation from the ESPN Board. This guy's been hit or miss on his info.

Big Move Coming

I see a big deal by the the Wolves on the horizon. Today's Budinger transaction was a small distraction that will ultimately mean very little if anything to the Wolves organization. it was sort of like the pre-quake rumbles you sometimes feel before the big earthquake hits. I think we'll see one huge deal and one fairly significant secondary acquisition -- probably a free agent signing -- before the summer is over -- something along the following lines:

1. THE BIG DEAL: A trade for Deng, Pau Gasol, Iggy or Kevin Martin. I think a deal for Deng is the most likely and I also think it makes the most sense for the Wolves, although I might still lean towards a deal for Iggy. I fear the Wolves will end up in a deal for Gasol. A deal for any of these guys except Martin would likely required the Wolves to part with Williams. The allure of a deal for Martin is that we could probably get him without giving up Derrick Williams.

2. SECONDARY DEAL: Free agent signing of either Brandon Roy or Shved. Roy is an interesting prospect. The Wolves will have to check out the knee situation thoroughly. If his knees check out, then I suspect that championship contenders like the Spurs, Lakers, and Bulls will be pursuing him and he would probably prefer a championship contender over the Wolves. So I think our chances of ending up with a healthy Roy are fairly remote. We'd clearly have to overpay him.

3. POSSIBLE THIRD MOVE: Sign a shot-blocking FA -- Asik or Steimsma.

4. POSSIBLE FOURTH MOVE: Wes Johnson for Jamaal Crawford

But mark my words, the Wolves will absolutely, positively make a major deal for a big name player. And unfortunately that liikely means parting with Williams. That's another reason I don't the Budinger deal. I'd much rather save that asset to package with others in a major deal for an impact player. Perhaps we could have packaged #18 with next year's Memphis pick and our own 1st rounder the following year along with Barea and Wes Johnson for an impact player without giving up Williams.

The good news is: The night was uneventful and they drafted Robbie Hummel. If he stays healthy, that's Love's backup for 10 minutes a game.

The bad news is: the shyt they tried (or are trying to do) is making me angry. First they tried to trade back into the first round.. to draft Miles Plumlee. IDK what the cost would have been but apparently they weren't close. Dodged a bullet there.

The worst news is that the Wolves tried to trade Derrick Williams to Charlotte for #2... to flip to LA for Pau Gasol. WHY? WHY? WHY? Thank you Cho for not making the deal. But apparently we're real interested in Pau.

I don't care what it costs. If the Wolves trade for Pau (because I know what it'll cost us), I'll finally get on the Fire Kahn bandwagon and I want Glen Taylor dead. Well actually he could croak anyway and I'll be just fine but I digress. LEAVE PAU ALONE! This is gonna cost us Pek. I fukking know it.

The cost for Pau is going to be huge. Not only costing DWill and/or Pek but also killing us with the Cap. Hopefully we can just use the cap space to bring in Batum or Gordon.
