Jon Krawczynski pretty much stated what each door holds with this Batum shyt.
A few scenarios for Wolves: 1. POR doesn't match and they get Batum, whom they've long coveted and see as a "missing piece." ...
2. POR does match on Batum, and the Wolves have a ton of cap room to go get others and they've also forced a hefty salary on division rival
3. While waiting for POR to match, Mayo and Lee are snapped up in free agency and Wolves get stuck. But expect Lee to let this play out.
As long as Minny avoids door #3 they're good. Apparently the Shved and Roy signings are still on whether Batum's here or not because they can move deals easily to make room.
No word yet on the proposed Ellington for Cunningham deal or Hill or Tolliver's status.
The only good news is that it seems like Lee's interested enough in us to wait.
Malcolm Lee won't play in summer league. The team wants him to fully recover from knee surgery and get his strength and conditioning up.
According to Jason Quick, if the Blazers sign a vet PG, then there's no way they don't match. They still will though. They will milk this out til the end too hoping door #3 opens up.
4 years, $46.5 mil, incentives that can make it $50 mil, and a 15% trade kicker. The shyt this team has to go through...
Our team can either look like
C Pekovic /Stiemsma /(the C that makes it outta summer league)
PF Love /Cunningham /Hummel
SF Williams /Budinger /Johnson
SG Batum /Roy /Lee
PG Rubio /Barea /Shved
or
C Pekovic /Stiemsma /(the C that makes it outta summer league)
PF Love /Tolliver /Hummel
SF Williams /Budinger /Johnson
SG C. Lee /Roy /M. Lee
PG Rubio /Barea /Shved
I think in almost any scenario, Ridnour or Barea and Ellington are goners.
