sign some "known Names" and have them be like the anti AEW. does Ryback still wrestle?

Just imagine on the first night the lights go out then when it comes back on Tommy Dreamer, Sabu, RhyGOAT, RVD,Sandman and Bubba beat the hell out of the Young bucks, Cody and Omega
These are TERRIBLE ideas

So is the Mall of America first episode, btw. It would be a funny winky in-joke, but it would also basically declare "We are WCW", the company that went bankrupt and WWE has been telling its audience was a disaster for the last decade.

What a time to be alive. :banderas:

The craziest part is they don't have to be great or even good at this point. If they're even decent but better/different from the E, which is a ridiculously low barrier of entry right now, they have a plethora of fans (me included) that will give them a fair chance.

But the BTE fanbase are those hardcore friends :dwillhuh: They are just as niche as us, but they actually spend money and make a difference, we don't. Look at how little difference we've made the few times decisions catered to us, we are very fukking fickle. So alienating their core audience by taking away the "super indy" feel they have just so older, "we are tired of WWE" fans will think their product is great is not worth it at all, imo. Besides, most of that disgruntled fanbase will give it a chance regardless.

I mean, of course I would love for AEW to be an awesome wrestling show that gives me what I want about wrestling. But nothing they've shown so far leads me to believe that. And given how successful they've already been, why the hell would I expect them to change things up?

Yeah, I'm confused about what breh wants here.

They've been catering almost exclusively to their hardcore fan base that watches stuff like Being the Elite, and they flipped that from a YouTube show, to a one off indy PPV, to a full on wrestling promotion, to multiple PPVs, to a TV deal.

Nearly every principle of business would tell you to keep catering to that same audience since they're clearly bringing you money, and are likely the best promoters you have at this point.

People like a significant portion of us who post here are like the second tier of fans, who like wrestling, but likely aren't watching WWE, OR Being the Elite. Can't speak for everyone, but I can tell you that as long as the wrestling is piff and they put on a good show, I'm watching.

Thinking about all that, it's ironic that for all the complaining about modern fans and wrestlers that old timers do, the audience seems to be leaning more towards what old school wrestling was built on. Solid wrestling with straightforward and sensible storylines, as opposed to a three hour primetime telenovela that happens to have a match or two sprinkled in.

Khan already said in an interview the product will be nothing like BTE.

It will actually be interesting to see how Cody and Khan's more traditional wrestling philophies gel with Bucks and Omega's more outside the box shyt...but I think there's room for both. One of the worst things about WWE is how everyone wrestles, talks and looks the same, so them being able to go from some Mid-South style old school wrasslin shyt to Omega on some animie fukkery will at least keep the show fresh.

Yeah, taking it too far in either direction may be a problem but the E has everybody's slider set right at 50 which results in absolutely no variety and almost everybody feeling like the same guy.

Remember when they thought wrestling was beneath them? They finally realized that outside of NBA coverage they have hundreds of hours of useless crap on their channel:mjlol:

They literally have like 2 hours of great content (Inside the NBA) on their channel and that is only around a few times a week about 7 months.

I have a feeling they will pull a ridiculous rating for the first show I wont go attitude era but maybe ruthless aggression era rating.

AEW plans to offer a real alternative to WWE programming. One of the major criticisms about WWE has been their scripted promos. Cody claimed that "you might not see one scripted promo" on their television.

"When it comes to promos, if we invested you, we already know your voice," Cody said. "We just want to put the voice out there for more people to hear. There's great coaches we have, great collaborators. Guys like Jim Ross, guys like Billy Gunn, a bunch of guys I can't name. We have these great collaborators, plus all of us who want to make this work. Collaboration yes, micromanagement no, scripted no, that's the best

Seriously looking back at the original formation of The Elite stable with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks... who would have thought that those three making a stable together would end up with EVERYTHING that we have seen so far? :whoo:Can we put The Elite on the list of "Greatest Wrestling Stables of All Time" at this point? :wow: The t-shirts were telling us all along....
