I'm on Verizon.... been using it all year with no problems. They can't tell as far as I know. The app is free. I think they just have an option to donate if you'd like.
If that don't work. This is the rooted way.

how much slower is T-Mobile's 4G than say AT&T or Verizon's LTE?
its not many areas plus im getting 20-25+mbs down consistently so who gives a fugg if att and verizon are getting maybe 30mb down but getting killed in the pocket.
