Chris Jericho Says WWE Star Challenged Vince McMahon To A Fight Which Led To A Scuffle - WrestlingInc.com

Chris Jericho has no shortage of fantastic stories throughout his podcast, book, and other ventures. His latest publication"Best In The World (At What I Have No Idea)" is no exception, and it hit shelves this week.

In the book, Jericho claims that while on a plane Vince McMahon made a snide remark to Kofi Kingston saying, "Maybe one day you'll get over," a comment which visibly disturbed Kingston.

As Jericho and Kingston exited the plane, Jericho told Kofi that he had to go back and challenge him to a fight. At first Kingston seemed to think it was a rib, but Jericho knowing McMahon's personality was totally serious about the situation.

Kingston took Jericho's advice and got back on the plane and asked Vince McMahon if he had a problem with him. The two traded verbal barbs back and forth until Vince McMahon shot in for a double leg takedown out of nowhere and he and Kingston subsequently wrestled around. McMahon has been known to test his amateur wrestling against the likes of Kurt Angle, also repeatedly attempting to take him down on a flight. McMahon finally got up and laughed the situation off, with McMahon liking that Kingston stood up for himself.

Jericho spares no detail or feelings in "Best In The World (At What I Have No Idea)" and even speaks candidly about threatening to punch McMahon in the face. The book is available in hardcover, paperback and on Kindle now. You can order it at this link.

I guess cause it was a different era so maybe some people miss that, but I do find it peculiar that nobody ever calls Lex Luger a racist for what was basically the same exact storyline in 1991. He told Ron he could be his chauffeur, Harley tellin' him 'when I was champ, I had boys like you carryin' my bags!', they built up Ron as this tremendous competitor... and then at Halloween Havoc, Lex beat this nikka clean and Ron was busted back down the card until a year later. And sure, Ron won the belt from Vader later down the line... just like Booker won the same belt later down the line... but I remember it being a bit wild that they'd shyt on Ron to that degree and he would get no kind of payback out of it.

Well, personally I find it really weird that people can't separate character and person when it comes to heels saying racist or sexist things. Like people thinking HHH the real person is racist because the character he played said racist things. No one calls Leo Dicapricock a racist for his character in Django Unchained, ya know? The selectiveness of when wrestling fans decide to believe or not believe in something is always strange.

I think they need to check Vince's brain for any signs of dementia or CTE. I'm not bullshyttin either, I don't think that it's sunk in with him that he's 70 years old.

Also keep in mind that he only sleeps 4-5 hours on average and has been doing that for several years. Plus factor in all of the (alleged :mjpls:) drug use and I guarantee his mind is :flabbynsick:.

The Vince McMahon School of Productivity - Businessweek

“I average about four hours of sleep. I don’t like to sleep. I’m missing something when I’m sleeping. From a personal standpoint, I’m aggressive by nature and I’m truculent by nature. So I need to have a socially acceptable outlet for that. That would be bodybuilding. I enjoy that. It’s a challenge to be stronger. I get a lot of enjoyment by training. Nutrition goes with it. I train for my head—not my body. The ancillary benefits are that I’m healthy as a horse. It really does clear my head. It’s an opportunity to wash anything from my head, business-wise or personal. That’s my moment when I can get into a zone.”

WWE Legends: Bret Hart interview
"I remember The Road Warriors were talking to [Hulk] Hogan, and Hogan was really gearing them up because they swore up and down that they were going to do their finishing move on Vince as soon as they saw him that night. I was listening to them, and I really thought they were going to do it. They were joking around that if Vince walked into the bar, they were going to do it. But it was rare for Vince to ever go into a bar and everyone knew it.

But that night, the strip bar was just packed with people, and what do you know, in walks Vince.:cokeboyvince1: I don't know why he showed up. I think it's because they were going to start drug testing. We had a big meeting that day on how they were going to start real drug testing and it was going to be for steroids, so there was a lot of concern with the wrestlers about life without steroids. I remember, it wasn't a big deal to me. I thought if everyone else was off steroids, it might be better for me. I wasn't afraid to go clean. But as you could tell, six months later, a lot of the other wrestlers, they were all gone. I'm not sure if that's why Vince came to the bar or not, but I think that had something to do with it. One last night before the testing.

"I just remember, Vince was really drunk when he got in there, which was a rarity, too. But he was drunk and some of the guys he was with were actually trying to stop him from going in. They were trying to pull him out of there. But he came in and right away Hogan's eyebrows went up.

He already had The Road Warriors talked in to doing their finish. I remember talking to Jim [Neidhart], and we both wanted to see it. Everyone gathered around to see if they would have the balls to do it. Next thing you know, they came right in behind Vince and scooped him up piggyback style, then Hawk jumped up on one of the poles. Everyone in the whole bar thought they were going to take Vince's head off. We were all watching, then Hawk came down with this little powder puff clothesline and Beefcake and Hogan caught Vince. There was a little golf clap and everyone was laughing. I remember right away looking at Jim and saying 'so much for the finish.' :notimpressedbret:He looked back at me and was like: 'The Hart Foundation would've done it.'
full
And I agreed. I said something about how we would've had the balls to do it, then I turned to Owen and told him that we had to get out of there right now before Jim picks Vince up.

"As soon as I turned around, there was a clear runway as all the wrestlers stepped back, and Jim had already picked up Vince in a Bear Hug. He wanted me to do our finish, we called it the Hart Attack. Everybody was looking at me like maybe you have the balls to do it. And I remember thinking, well, here it goes.:notimpressedbret: I ran as fast as I could and completely took Vince's head off with that clothesline. The only way to do that move, you have to go full blast, otherwise you could never get your legs up, so I pretty much hit him as hard as I could. He was lying there looking at me and he said: 'Hitman, you owe me a drink.' Dewar's on ice.:vincehuh: I never forgot it.

"The funny thing is, two or three years later when I was champion, Vince had to have surgery on his neck and I said to him: 'Maybe it was because of that clothesline I gave you in that bar.':notimpressedbret: He stopped and he looked at me, and he didn't have a friendly look on his face, and he said: 'Maybe.'

And I thought, maybe.":notimpressedbret:
