B/c IMO, Vince isn't really friends with any of these ppl. He's friends while he's dealing with you as ur boss, I mean Bret Hart said Vince was like a father to him....and you see how that situation ended. And outside of a very select few(Flair, Rock, Austin, Hogan), I doubt many former in-ring employees have Vince's number.
He's rolling around wrestling with Kurt Angle like they're childhood buddies, and you see Angle hasn't been back in WWE in over a decade. He probably fools around backstage with Titus and such, but the moment Titus is gone from WWE, they won't be in touch.
The way I see Vince is, you basically don't exist to him unless you are currently making him money or you can potentially make him money.

After thinking about it more, this was a huge moment.
DB's retirement was number 1 topic on twitter all day Monday, it was even scrolling across the ESPN ticker all evening before he even came out to officially do it. Lotta eyeballs on this moment. Maybe the most universal mainstream WWE moment in years.
Titus didn't do anything too bad, he just did it at the bad time.
Had it been Edges retirement, he probably would've been good.
