He was hotter than hell going into the match, wins the title through questionable means, gets assaulted by someone that texted himself to go after the champion, and then gets cashed in on by someone who lost the belt a month later. Meanwhile, he loses to someone who didn't need it and has to wait until November to get his momentum back.

They really dropped the ball there.

as a kid and big Luger fan I was like wtf he won by DQ why are they all celebrating in the ring.

I wonder how true it is that he was supposed to get the belt at WM 10 but screwed it up by giving up the ending on a radio show or something. Nontheless looking back even though I liked Luger better than Hart. The ending with Bret winning the title and Owen staring him down was a great ending.
