There is a sharpness gain, but nothing near coming from 480i. If you have a 65in TV, 4k is somewhat noticeable. Unfortunately I doubt a layperson would see much difference as 1080p is plenty sharp at certain distancesThey can do 8k 60fps with the newest GPU cards on PC, I never heard of anyone having an 8k monitor tho
And for real for real, when they pitched 1080p as a "thing" the visuals is identical to what they pushing as 4K today. Those little demo videos with the HD ocean streams, the HD buildings in another country view. Looking back, the only time I really seen 1080p stuff wow me was The Dark Knight blu-ray (and they handful of movies after it that used the tech) Avatar is what I was gonna say, but that was DVD now that I think about it

Not really. They still have multiple free updates planned, and they just said yesterday the have a million active monthly users.
