Brehs, this game :wow:

Most fun I've had in a shooter since Modern Warfare 2. The campaign is one of the best in a long time, but the multiplayer :wow:

Swinging from the grappling hook around a building to rain death on pilots from above :whoo:

Frontier News Network 01.13.2017 - Welcome to Live Fire

WELCOME TO LIVE FIRE

Hello Pilots—Jay here. Happy New Year! Last year we said that we were committed to supporting Titanfall 2 for the long haul and this journey began with the release of Angel City’s Most Wanted and we’re just getting started. We have many things in the works for Titanfall 2 players in 2017 and today we’re excited to reveal what’s next.

In our next content drop coming soon, we’ll be introducing a brand-new mode called Live Fire: a lightning fast 6v6 Pilot only mode that brings competitive, close quarter combat to the forefront. A round-based best of 5 mode with no respawns, you will have one minute to eliminate the opposing team in order to win the round. You can also win the round if your team is holding the neutral flag when the round timer ends. It’s fast, frantic, and sure to help hone those teamwork and mobility skills. We’re also introducing two brand new maps designed specifically for Live Fire: Stacks and Meadow. Playable only in the Live Fire playlist, these two maps are tight, enclosed death boxes designed specifically for the fast-paced, intense nature of the mode.

In addition to Live Fire and the two new dedicated maps for that mode, we’re also going to be introducing a brand-new Coliseum map called Columns, as well as another Pilot execution (wait until you see this one!), and multiple new Commander intros for each Faction. We’ll have more details on when you’ll be getting your hands on this soon and everything in this update will be free for all Titanfall 2 players.

We’ve also been working on a significant update to our playlist interface. We agree with much of the feedback that having game modes split between two screens is not an ideal user experience. The team has been working to introduce a brand new interface for the next content drop on consoles and possibly a bit earlier on PC so we can test it out. Below you can check out our work in progress to give you an idea how it will change.

Our goal is to allow players to create their own ‘mixtapes’ and choose which modes they want to be matched in. Would you like to match in just Attrition, Amped Hardpoint, and Last Titan Standing? Simply select the modes you want and hit play. We’ll talk more about this and more in the coming weeks.

Everything else is still highly classified, but hopefully you are starting to get a sense at how we’re planning to support Titanfall 2 post-launch. Soon we will reveal our roadmap for the next couple months that will have more maps [including remasters of more maps from Titanfall], weapons, modes, and more.

Stay tuned to @titanfallgame for updates, this is going to be an exciting year for Titanfall 2. Thanks for your support!

I really like the option of customizing the Mixtape playlist. I hope this means more people queuing for Free for All cuz I still haven't tried it in this game yet. don't normally mess with elimination modes but if Live Wire rounds go by quick, I'm all for it

they should also lower the requirement for the new pilot executions. I just hit 25 recently and I had the game since launch but to get the last dlc execution, you needed 50

I'm about level 12 now. Any advice on specific set-ups I should use? I've just been rolling with pretty much the default gear and Ronin (gonna try Tone),

You should just have to go with what you're having the most fun with. The guns and perks/boosts are mostly well balanced so you never feel short changed when switching things up.

at 12 you haven't even really unlocked anything yet. But:

Battery Boost is really good to use in the boost slot if you want to keep your Ronin around for a bit longer
MGL Launcher is the best anti titan weapon imo
the R201 is probably the best all around gun
Hemlock is damn near OP, go ahead and use it before it gets nerfed, along with the Pilot Turret boost and the A-Wall tactical ability (use all 3 together and be a scumbag)
Phase Shift, and Stim are my personal favourite tacticals
Tactikill is a perk that stays on pretty much all my guns
Arc Grenade is imo the best overall ordinance - its a damaging stun grenade to pilots, it blinds titans, you get 2, and they recharge quick
Try just about everything as you unlock them, you can always switch out mid match
Don't waste credits until after you regenerate and know what you like

I agree with all of those points. Even though Arc Grenades are extremely useful, I like using the Electric Smoke Grenades because they can clear out squadrons of grunts and spectres, hit unsuspecting pilots, and it could be used as a distraction to escape danger. Regarding OP weapons, I think that the Devotion is pretty OP.

Brehs, for the 1st time last night I struggled to find a match. It had 12K online but only 10 people to match with in either Amped Hardpoint or Pilot vs Pilot. Could only get a game with Attrition but that's probably my least favorite mode.

I don't want this game to die out, only shooter I've ever enjoyed outside of Destiny :to:

Why can't I have nice things :sadbron:

Shouout to the breh who suggested switching to a gun with a <> shaped reticle and to hip fire. Been using the Alternator:wub: my gameplay's improve loads in the last few weeks, I'm winning like 80% of my 50/50s and consistently getting 10+ kills in PvP. I fukked with this game heavy when I was just averaging 2 kills a game so you can only imagine the fun I'm having with it now.

Also, and I'm exposing my FPS inexperience here, playing with headphones is :ohhh:, you can hear everything, I can be in a building, hear someone's footsteps rattling on a rooftop and get the jump on them. I know I'm mad late on this but I really didn't play FPSs outside Destiny

Finally, switched from my G2 Scorch da gawd who's been my main from day 1 to tryout Tone. Let me just say this Tone is OP as fukk and easy to use coming from Scorch, almost feels too cheap to use... imma still use him tho :lolbron:
