People keep saying "This is pre alpha this is pre alpha" are in for a rude awakening. By now we should know the core gameplay mechanics/features are locked in. The only changes that will happen are graphical and performance boosts, especially a game that's about 2 months out.
Well there's no reason to believe this is their latest build of the game. Now in the case of this being a "pre alpha" might be a misuse of the term in normal development cycles. But my assumption is this was the best version of the game they could release now to test the netcode before release. If their "beta" gets released and is still considered underpar by people then I'd personally be worried about the release.

I was a fan of the first one, but this seems like just another generic fps.

The game feels fine to me. It seems like people are just jumping on it because it is not a complete duplicate of the first game...which many people who did not own an xbox one dismissed anyway.

Hmm, not sure why people are trying to rewrite history here.. People weren't complaining about that shyt, like at all. The most was some people felt like the bots made the game feel less competitive and whatnot but it was more of a quick observation. I myself said taking the bots out would make the game feel lifeless and I have the receipts:

That's what I'm worried about. The thing is the game would feel very lifeless had those bots not been added. It's a trade off.

This game is crack. Idk but it just clicked with me like yesterday and I'm loving it. I wasn't feeling it too much at first on the real but all of a sudden I "get" the game. I hope they don't change up the loadout system in future iterations. I'd hate if they went the COD route and added a bunch of different abilities that can be leveled up.

Hardpoint is :banderas:, Capture the flag is fukking insane and I haven't tried Last Titan standing. All they need to add is some hardcore modes and a few spin off modes. I'm loving the parkour system, it feels so freaking fresh. Titan on titan battles feel like Halo too. Imagine if they did a BF4 take on Titanfall but with BF4 engine?

Also another thing I like about this game and I'm glad they did it was make the TTK higher. I was scared it would've been like COD but it takes much more bullets to kill but not too much. Also that nexus map is :ohlawd:

Funny enough the beta for TF2 comes out and... the pilots movement are slower, the maps are really big so you there isn't much parkour going on, there's less titans on maps atm, the TTK feels faster, wall hanging is a perk and so on and so forth. Like I said, people just defending this alpha acting like I ain't played TF1. There's a reason why a lot of people are disappointed right now all over the internet. It's not bad but it's not really that good compared to TF1 right now. Respawn said themselves they're changing TF2 to be different, not listening to "casuals". They're not amateurs now.

and there's the problem. The average person doesn't know anything about game design and why things are the way they are in a game. TF2 was guaranteed to be a hit just on the basis of it being on Xbox AND PS4. All they had to do was take TF1, add more guns, mechs, grapple hook (default ability for everyone) and a single player campaign.

fukking around with the formula and making it worse is on them. They been making FPS for over 10 years. They made CoD4 man, they're the originators of this shyt. Lol at listening to some angry 18 year olds on the internet who think the AI enemies shouldn't be in the game.
