It's fascinating how Ike doesn't take responsibility for S-HIT. "She tried to kill herself 3 times and it got me thinking wtf is wrong with her ? "
Tina fabricated many stories about Ike, including the rape, beatings & kidnappingDude was scum. He deserves to be shytted on.
Spector then criticised Turner’s autobiography ’I, Tina’, he said : “I have an ambivalence towards Oprah Winfrey. She made Tina Turner’s book into a bestseller which demonized and vilified Ike. The book wouldn’t have sold 10 books. It was badly written. It was a piece of trash and because Oprah idolized Tina she didn’t feel it wrong to vilify a brother.”
The documentary was released this past weekend and it doesn't have a lot of mainstream push but it was pretty good. Worth a watch if you have HBO Max.
She says she's leaving the spotlight now to quietly live the rest of her life enjoying the fruits of her labor.
Tina Turner bids farewell to public eye with 'Tina,' a touching HBO doc that reflects on her tragic and triumphant life
This is her today at 81
to a queen
Nikka you aint shyt ..Ike waiting for her at the gate with a belt in his hand.
Ike waiting for her at the gate with a belt in his hand.
what does that have to do with anything she said?
it's ok we have fukked up people that happen to be Black. too bad Ike couldn't beat the c00n out of her
Yeah I can agree with that.
It's why I laugh today at Hollywood trying to be liberal and woke knowing how demonic that whole industry is.
Ike waiting for her at the gate with a belt in his hand.
except this is not her only statementYou ain't shyt.
c00ning is minstrelsy. So it wasn't that.
And it couldn't be ignorance because she had been to Africa and had first hand experience. I don't think she meant 'lazy', she just couldn't find the words to better articulate.
She simply didn't want to exchange her trauma for African trauma. I'm sure Ike had the same views. They were from the backwoods of Tennessee. I'm sure Africa was regarded high by no one.
She actually sounds a lot like Lena Horne when she was interviewed about why she didn't marry a black man. She said she wouldn't have been able to deal with all the trauma that came with being a black man in America at the time. However, Lena's response was more genteel as she had a more refined upbringing and had a way with words.
except this is not her only statement
one of her criticism was about the people not being fashionable enough. like she didn't understand poverty. c'mon son
living off the land makes you lazy? maybe on opposite day. she was straight up hateful, not even just a little bit the interview cut off the rest.
you doing a lot of juelzing for her. i don't respect anything she said. she came from a place of looking down that's hateful. She said they were nice people.
If 'glam' and 'luxury' is what she found inspiration in, that's what she found inspiration in.
If you getting your ass beat everyday and forced to perform, whatever glimmer of light gets you up everyday to do so, why compound that with other traumas?
Again, I don't think lazy was the word she wanted to use. Her people being from Tennessee I'm sure lived off the land as well. Maybe she simply meant 'simple'.
you doing a lot of juelzing for her. i don't respect anything she said. she came from a place of looking down that's hateful.
she said the food is trash
i can't vibe with the people
they have no fashion
and they are lazy
