I think they missed an opportunity to play with the reveal more, but they'd have needed another week for that. There was some character building for Mariah there if Toni had been on some:
'I would have just played my role and been a plucky upstart. Let our past be the past. But YOU couldn't let it go, when I gave you a chance to restart. You dragged me back to this. Asked for it; you got it ' it would play into Toni being a gaslight-y Adam West Batman villain lowkey(because that's literally what she's playing), but it would pivot the blame back to Mariah instead of some 'welp, wacky Toni gon wacky' but overall who cares. She's the best female character they have on their television and it isn't close. Her being back and likely reclaiming her title so this trash Mariah May title run can be done with can only be a win for AEW

I still find it funny that WWE people (as in people that work for the company) constantly say Roman and/or the Bloodline deserve an Emmy but have never nominated themselves for it. At least put in the bare minimum effort if you’re going to have people crying on TV about it.
