I still roll change...pennies included. I collect change all year and towards the end of the year, I'll roll everything up and drop it into a savings account. I've always found I have more pennies than anything and they do add up. I also pick pennies up from off the ground. "Find a penny pick it up and all day long you'll have good luck". (my grandma used to say that to me).

Wouldn't be sad if they weren't produced anymore but they are still valuable to me.

I paid for something at the Post Office and got two pennies back. I looked at them and they were shiny as hell. I couldn't tell you the last time I saw a penny before this. They looked hella different as well. They have a Captain America shield on them. I say keep them. I don't want companies getting over any more than they already do.

Why are people freely giving money to Coinstar? If you have a bank account the bank will count your coins free of charge.

The penny does need to go. Watch idiots make the argument that we'll be losing money or its a tax on people. Are you really going to notice the difference if your $4.58 purchase is rounded up to $4.60?

Walmart gets about 100M customers per week. 100m *.02 = $2M dollars...a WEEK. That shyt makes a difference.

You one of them smart dumb muthafukkkas huh, or you are just :troll: me..

You taking about saving coins cuz they add up, which is true, and then you pay a machine to count said coins for a fee of like 8-10% for the coinstar.

When you could just count them your self and keep all your damn money. :heh:

If you have a bank, then will give you coin wraps for free. So dont even try that shyt.

I roll coins at the end of the year, why pay a machine when i can do it for free.

So actually,

So your going to go at the BURSAR office at your school to pay off the debt you owe with "coin wraps" for an office that only accepts cash?

:heh: just stop it breh...

its not always meant for the person themself.....that is why coinstar is beneficial to alot of people

A bank will exchange your wrapped coins for dollars just as coinstar exchanges your unwrapped coins for dollars. You're basically paying coinstar for the convenience of not having to count and wrap your change.

I personally don't think the amount they charge is worth the time it takes for me to wrap the coins myself but I can understand people who'd rather not roll coins.

How the hell, would I know...that is simply data to me. :what:

And are you talking about if a subtotal comes to 2.63 -> 2.65 and 2.67 -> 2.65? Or is it 2.67 ->2.70?

It would probably be whatever the particular store decided to round to. But it's not like they can't raise their prices anyway if they want to. If you felt a store was trying to take advantage, it's not like you couldn't just take your business elsewhere. Like I said, other countries have done it and it wasn't nearly as big a deal as people are making it. Hell, we used to have a half cent coin (though it was worth more than a dime now) and that was phased out without any huge issues.

Man. The fukk you talking about with this bullshyt ass scenario. Do iI really need to tell you to take the rolled coins to the bank. On second thought. I prolly should. I forget that the coli is actually full of dusty ass paycheck to paycheck bums. You prolly get your lil check cashed by the Arabs at the mini mart up the street. I forget a lot of y'all don't got bank accounts and shyt and still live with Ma Dukes.

I agree. If you just got a couple handfuls of change. It prolly not worth the time to roll. Last time I rolled my change i had about 400 bucks. So are thes fukking clowns saying Coinstar is worth the 35 dollar charge just to count the shyt.

fukk outta here. Yall trying to hard to defend your stupidity for getting raped outta your own money.

How this is already implemented in Canada.

If you purchase an item with a final value of $0.94 or below, it gets rounded down to $0.90. If the final value is $0.95, that is what you pay. If the final value is $0.96 or more you round up to $1.00.

Now merchants do have an advantage as they can always slightly increase prices until it reaches the threshold of rounding up. The consumer however can take advantage of this by purchasing two or more items that do not reach that threshold, thus rounding down the value while increasing cost savings.

Pennies, I know.
