Dude makes a pretty convincing argument IMO. :ld:

Seems like the value of pennies is so low at this point that they aren't even worth minting. Not to mention I (and I'd imagine most other people) have tons of pennies lying around the crib that I'll never use. Hell, vending machines don't even take them.

Any opinions on this?

:ohhh: if they discontinued the penny, would it make the 1900 indian head penny my dad gave me more valuable??

*realizes he's 100% about CoinStar*

*uses CoinStar*

*:troll: uses it to transfer to a Amazon credit, though, most of the time*

I'm with the OP

They should be gone, until then I collect them until I get a nice amount and cash them out anywhere from 20-100 dollars

Canada started this year phasing out the penny. All purchases at stores are rounded up or down.

Dumbest thing I ever heard. I save all my coins including pennies that i eventually take to coin star.
A penny can help just a little.

So you save up all your coins, then have a machine count them for a fee of about 9% of the total.

A savvy man, giving savvy advice.
