He wasn’t a great coach imo but DLO/KAT/Beasley didn’t get a lot of time to build this season .
Also they need to make a decision on if Ant/Dlo backcourt will work . If not ship one out for a 2
Had to be done. They have been abominable.
Nepotism with the L
Bruh it’s like everyone want Raptors secret sauce
Got me fired? Say it ain’t so, breh.
So no chance of him on the Knicks?
None of those players were past their 2nd season with exception of KG.This was their team at one point and couldn't do shyt with it. And yeah I know KG was past his prime but still
Fellas,I am pissed. First of all, why would the Raptors even allow this mid season? That's one. Now for the Wolves. Why wouldn't you give Vanderpool a shot? I know the NBA doesn't have a Rooney Rule but to not even try to interview other candidates is some bull. Nothing against Finch but this is not how you build a culture. By not doing your due dilligence and going through the process is a damn joke.
1. Masai won't stop his people from leaving if they can make more money. See: Jeff Weltman (Orlando GM), Phil Handy (promoted from Raptors player development to 2nd assistant with Lakers), Jerry Stackhouse (lead assistant with Grizzlies), Nate Bjorkgren (Pacers head coach)
2. The GM has worked with Finch before from 2009-16 with the Rockets, and ownership interviewed him before hiring Saunders. Sucks that Vanderpool didn't get a shot.
3. This has happened before with Lionel Hollins and Memphis in 2009. Extremely uncommon, but he was an in-season hire and he helped turned the team from a joke to a contender
Masai might be leaving himself after the season is over.
We'll see. He likely wants ownership stake if he's staying in basketball or he's leaving for politics.
That's what Washington is waiting to offer him to take the job.
Not sure if Toronto would do it just to keep him though.
Toronto's ownership is definitely willing to spend, but ownership stake? I don't see them offering it to him. It's all (white) telecom execs on the MLSE board of directors
