this is the type of thread where you can see the age of ppl

I gotta go with TIMMY....timmy did it longer and that crossover :ohlawd:

Timmy was hitting ppl with that sig crossover forever...

Prime yrs gotta go to Penny....but he just didn't do it long enough to fucc with that boy Timmy

This is the best way to put it. Penny in his prime was something special. As a PG he was a mismatch nightmare and had one of the greatest court visions ever. Of course, his prime was only 4years, so that hurts him. Timmy was better overall because of his longevity. My only problem with Timmy is that this n!gga fell in love with the stop-n-pop 3, instead breaking people off the dribble and the mid range pull up.

Now if y'all wanna bring Grant Hill into it, he was The One. There was a time when he would beat whoever was guarding him off the dribble, and dunk on whatever shotblocker was at the rim. He just had a knack for the game.

Prime Penny was a real superstar for a minute.
so was Tim :mindblown:

over the top hyperbole for a guy who had a career high of 7 assists a game while playing with Shaq and spot up shooters like Nick Anderson and Dennis Scott.

I guess I will repeat this, the Tim Hardaway you all saw in Miami was not the same Tim Hardaway at the start of his career. Tim Hardaway had a career altering ACL tear and missed an entire season recovering from the injury (as in 82 games).

some people are showing they have no respect for the NBA's history with their posts in this thread. Its disgusting.

People forget how nice Tim Hardaway was.

If so many people never modeled their game after him I'd say he had the nicest handles of all time....but there are alot of good ball handlers in the NBA today.

Penny never averaged over 7 assists a game as a pg.

Tim Hardaway even as a old man his last year in Miami was droppin 6 dimes a game. and he has 9 seasons of over 7 assists a game.

Penny never averaged more then 21 a game his whole career.

Tim's best season (23 and 10)....Penny's (21.7 and 7)

Tim is just the better player. even after his prime he still had the best handles in the league arguably. and being 7 inches shorter than Penny he was grabbing 4 boards a game before the knee injury(same as Penny in his prime).

Penny made the All-NBA 1st team over the Glove and Stockton in his 2nd and 3rd year. He was considered a superstar at the time.

Nobody is sh*tting on Tim, but seriously how many games did you see him play before he got hurt? You from the bay area? Cuz its not like the Warriors were on national tv every week and there was no league pass/internet back then and they only got past the first round once. He was a great player pre-injury, but Penny was better. No shame in that.

Tim also played in a fast paced Don Nelson offense in Golden State, the Magic were dumping it inside to Shaq half the time.

what about in Miami with Pat "Grind it out" Riley?

Tim had a 20 and 8 season and a 18 and 8

Was talking more about his scoring prowess pre-injury. Tim in Miami was like a completely different player, look at this shooting percentage once he left GSW.
