Duncan should be giving speeches at corp conventions after he retires.
Coach K makes tons of money doing that and I'd much rather hear Duncan about the importance of fundamentals, leadership, consistency, persistence and etc.
His career is basically a HBR case study and could be and should be applied and replicated in business settings and real life in general.
Nothing but respect to the man.
Tim has always been one of my favorite players and even for how great he is I still think he's underrated when it comes to being in the top five or ten players to ever play. Everyone is quick to bring up stats and whatnot when discussing the greatest players ever but we all know Duncan could have been 30 and 12 for years while he was in his prime if he wanted. But he was all about the team and just wanted to win which he has done a lot of since he entered the league. The Spurs have won at least 50 games in every season since he was drafted minus the 99 lockout season. And some of those years Tim was playing with some scrubs and a not what he is now Parker. Pop gets credit for being a great coach (and he is) but it's easy to be a great coach when you have a player like Tim Duncan. He is probably one of the easiest superstar players to build around and that is a true compliment if you ask me.
